Anhydrous calcium chloride is a product of 94% in calcium chloride products, mainly having spheroidal calcium chloride and powdered calcium chloride. Anhydrous calcium chloride (CaCl2) is a white or off-white solid (granular, lumpy or powder), slightly bitter, odorless, soluble in water, and gives off a large amount of heat when dissolved in water. It has strong hygroscopicity and is easily deliquescent in the air and should be stored in a sealed state. CaCl2 can be used as a desiccant, a dehydrating agent, a refrigerant, an antifreeze for aviation and automobile internal combustion engines, a coagulation antifreeze, a fabric fireproofing agent, a food preservative, and the like.
The main uses of anhydrous calcium chloride are as follows:
1. Used as a multi-purpose desiccant, such as for drying nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide and other gases. Used as a dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers and resins. Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for refrigerators and ice making. It can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar. It is an excellent building antifreeze. Used as an anti-fogging agent and pavement dust collector and fabric fireproofing agent for ports. Used as a protective agent and refining agent for aluminum-magnesium metallurgy. It is a precipitant for the production of lake pigments. Used for waste paper processing and deinking. It is a raw material for the production of calcium salts.
2, chelating agent; curing agent; calcium fortifier; refrigeration refrigerant; desiccant; anti-caking agent; microbial agent; pickling agent; tissue improver.
3, used as a desiccant, pavement dust collector, anti-fogging agent, fabric fire retardant, food preservative and used in the manufacture of calcium salts
4, used as a lubricant additive
5, used as analytical reagents
6, mainly used to treat blood calcium reduction caused by exudative edema, intestinal and ureteral colic, magnesium poisoning.
7. Used as a calcium fortifier, curing agent, chelating agent and desiccant in the food industry.
8. It can increase the permeability of the bacterial cell wall. The granular anhydrous calcium chloride is often used as a desiccant to fill the drying tube. The macroalgae dried with calcium chloride (or seaweed ash) can be used for the production of soda ash. Agent and cooling bath, calcium chloride can lower the freezing point of water. Spreading calcium chloride hydrate on the road can prevent icing and deicing and snow melting, but the salt water after melting snow will destroy the soil and vegetation along the road and deteriorate the pavement concrete. .
